ABOUT

"The Issue" is a newsletter about the parts of daily life that we too often keep hidden. We aim to create a space for historically oppressed groups to share their personal stories in a way that adds value to our larger society. We hope that reading these stories will open your eyes - or show you that you are not alone. We do not comment on politics - rather, we comment on society. The goal of this publication is to - little by little - work towards a world where we all do our best to understand one another, to uplift one another, and to unify against systemic forces of oppression.

"The Issue" is a place both for learning and for sharing. We welcome your ideas - be they personal stories, interesting poetry, uplifting music, news on a cool organization, or something else entirely. If you're interested in contributing to our newsletter, you may submit your ideas through our contact page, or by emailing theissuenewsletter@gmail.com.

"The Issue" was created in 2019 by editor Allyson Barkley and her cousin Ben Barkley. Alexis Kinlaw joined the team as social media coordinator in 2020.
